Doan Van Hau, as Zing.vn quoted, shares that he will not join Vietnam in AFC U23 Championship 2020.
Heerenveen agrees to release Van Hau at SEA Games 30. He joined Vietnam in World Cup 2022 qualifers and summons with U23 team to visit the Philippines.
However, the 20-year-old confirmed that he will not join the AFC U23 Championship 2020:
“The finals of AFC u23 Championship doesn’t belong to FIFA Day so SC Heerenveen will not release its player.
I will not participate in the tournament, but Park Hang-seo will have a suitable plan without me, "said Doan Van Hau.
AFC U23 Championship is an important tournament as the results will be used to compete for Olympic Tokyo.
Van hau’s absence is a great loss for Park’s army. He delivered impressive performance last year and assisted Quang Hai to find the net of South Korea.
In the qualifier in March, he and his teammates excellently won three matches over Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand to advance to the finals.
