Filip Nguyen’s excellent performance has helped Slovan Liberec promote their place in the rankings and full of chance to attend Champions League next season.
There are 2 rounds left to end the first phase of Czech Cup. Slovan Liberec is now ranked 6th . Based on the new form of the tournament this year, the top 6 teams will play a round turn to find the champion.
The top 2 teams will attend next year UEFA Champions League Qualifiers, the third team attends Europa League next season. The fourth team plays a play-off match to compete for a ticket to Europa League Qualifiers.
If Filip’s team is not on top 6, they still have a chance to join Champions League. Teams, being ranked 7th to 10th will play the second phase together by 2-legged matches to find the best team then encounter a play-off with the 4th team of top 6.
Slovan Liberec will face Slovacko and Karvina in the next matches. These teams are fighting for not being relegated so this could be a fierce competition against Filip’s side.
In this season, Filip had 19 caps, in which he kept 10 clean sheets and conceded 12 goals. Therefore, Slovan Liberec won 8 matches, drew 5 and lost 6 matches with Fillip’s appearance.
