Identify U15 Vietnam’s rival in AFF U15 Championship semifinal
U15 Malaysia secured its group B winner title after the 1-1 draw to U15 Thailand faces Vietnam in the semifinal.
The fight for the next round in group B is not as fierce as it is in group A despite U15 Malaysia, U15 Thailand and U15 Australia share the same chance in the second leg.
Defeating U15 Brunei in the early match, U15 Australia shared the same points with two other rivals yet less goal difference. Thereby, the confrontation between U15 Malaysia and U15 Thailand is not important and to identify the group winner and the runner-up, who stay unbeatable before the last match.
U15 Thailand with determination to win 3 points to avoid U15 Indonesia in the semifinal, they soon deploy attacking football. In a counter-attack situation, center forward Pornsawan Sankla possessed the ball and finished, opening the scoring.
U15 Myanmar then put more effort on attacking and scored an equalizer in the last minutes.
The result sealed U15 Myanmar the group win, with 11 points, goal difference +13, then facing group A runner-up U15 Vietnam in the semifinal. Meanwhile, U15 Thailand lost by less goal difference, accepting the second place and face Indonesia in the semifinal.
