'Xuan Truong and Cong Phuong have not met requirements in developed countries'
Experts Doan Minh Xuong said that the current training programme in Vietnam does not meet the standards to be able to compete in more developed football platforms.
In recent years, Vietnamese football has begun to take part in exporting players. However, up to now, there has not been any case that has really succeeded in developed football platforms, especially Europe.
The most expected player like Van Hau is also facing many difficulties when he cannot compete in the official position in the Heerenveen squad. In the opinion of expert Doan Minh Xuong, he commented:
"To train quality players, the selection and training process must be changed. We have only trained soccer players for domestic and national clubs, but no training to play abroad."
"In the end, if you want a player to come to the US, you have to meet American standards, to Europe, you need to meet European standards. You have to train with standards. The clubs have not invested properly,” Doan Minh Xuong added.
Xuan Truong and Cong Phuong are the best training players of HAGL but cannot meet the requirements of overseas
One of the leading training academy and meeting international standards such as HAGL-JMG was also not highly appreciated by Mr. Xuong for the standards. He said:
"Every club, even HAGL, has put in place or seriously thought about training players to sell abroad."
"Players like Xuan Truong, Cong Phuong and Van Hau are talented comparing to the Vietnamese level, but they have not met the requirements of developed football backgrounds."
At this time both Cong Phuong and Xuan Truong returned to the country to play, while Doan Van Hau was still wandering about the future. Mr. Xuong points out the foreign language and nutrition issues. These are two typical examples that Vietnamese players must adapt when traveling abroad to play football.
Regarding the process, he said that the world of young training must go through 7 processes from the age of 4, while Vietnam trains from 11 years old. For him, such a way is not possible.
