Why did Park Hang Seo eliminate Van Hau from U22 Vietnam?

On the afternoon of August 13, Park Hang-seo and the Vietnam Football Federation announced a list of 48 players to gather U22 Vietnam with the goal of 31st SEA Games to be held in Hanoi.

Many familiar factors are called including Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Nguyen Van Toan, Dung Quang Nho, Tran Bao Toan, Hong Son, Hai Long, Huu Thang, Danh Trung, Manh Dung ... However, Coach Park decided kind of "leading bird" Doan Van Hau.

Why was not Van Hau summoned?

Previously, Park listed Van Hau on the roster of Vietnam in 8/2020 with the goal of testing and evaluating after 11 months of playing football in the Netherlands. However, Mr. Park's plan was broken because AFC postponed the 2022 World Cup qualifier, so the national team gathering did not go as planned.

Doan Van Hau has returned to the country from August 2 and will complete the quarantine period according to the regulations on prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic on August 16. Therefore, a player is eligible to join U22 Vietnam.

Park decided not to call Doan Van Hau because the Thai Binh-born defender was at a different level than the players who were called to focus next. Van Hau was the mainstay of the national team and became the first Vietnamese player to play in the Netherlands. Therefore, Mr. Park does not have to call him to U22.

If the national team focuses, Van Hau will be present, otherwise he will return to the Hanoi club to practice with many other national players such as Thanh Chung, Quang Hai, Hung Dung, Duc Huy ... or have his seniors. Experienced is Van Quyet, Tan Tai and Thanh Luong.
