Who is the goalkeeper that ‘pushes’ Van Lam to reservation?

Van Lam had to sit outside and watch his teammates play for two matches. It is bad for him that the home team plays well, does not concede any goals and of course coach Alexandre Gama has no more reason to change the curent goalkeeper.

Van Lam was highly appreciated by coach Gama for his spirit and professionalism in the competition last year. But after losing to Bangkok in the first round, Van Lam lost his position to Somporn Yos.

There is no explanation for this sudden change. Somporn Yo, 27,  is known as Ton. At the age of 16, he joined the BEC Tero Sasana training facility, where he practiced with today's Thai players such as Chanathip, Tanaboon or Sarach Yooyen.

However, his career was quite miserable when he was often on loan. Before joining Muangthong United in 2017, Somporn had not played more than 20 games in a single season. And despite joining Thai giant, Somporn was also loaned to Pattaya and Prachuap.

Somporn also recently competed in the youth level of Thailand. In addition, in May 2016, Somporn was called up to the national team by Kiatisuk in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers but had no chance to play yet.

Perhaps Somporn Yos' career is more closely associated with the replacement role.

However, by pushing Van Lan onto the bench and gaining the trust of coach Gama through his performances in the last two matches, it is likely that Somporn's career will turn to a new page.
