Vietnam is still the number one Southeast Asian team in FIFA rankings
There was no disturbance in FIFA Rankings of South East Asia when Park Hang-seo’s side maintained the position and score on the rankings of the World Football Federation (FIFA).
The Vietnamese team remained the same number of points 1,258 after the first 6 months of 2020. Quang Hai and his teammates maintained the 94th position in the world from 2019 to the present and are the leading team in Southeast Asia for the time being.
The second World Cup 2022 qualifying matches at the end of March and early April 2020 are postponed until the end of October and early November.
Besides, international friendlies cannot be held due to the covid-19 epidemic. Many countries must order social distancing, airport closures and travel restrictions to ensure safety. The movement of the teams thus became impossible.
Thailand is still following Vietnam in the second position in the region with the 113th and 1,178 points. Philippines is the 3rd team in Southeast Asia and 124 in the world when it won 1,136 points. Japan is the leading team in Asia, followed by Iran and South Korea.
