VFF devotes all its strength to create an unprecedented history
Vice Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan affirmed that VFF will put all its strength to make to make history at the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers and the AFF Cup 2020.
The 6th Conference of the Vietnam Football Federation (Session VIII) agreed to make important decisions related to the activities of Vietnamese Football in the remaining period of 2020.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan affirmed that VFF will do its best to make the Vietnamese team the strongest force for the two tournaments at the end of the year. Vietnam Football Federation wants Park Hang-seo to bring back 2 victories in the World Cup Qualifiers 2022 and AFF Cup 2020.
VFF Vice Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan said: "The conjuncture in Group G can turn around after one round here, so Vietnam needs to play with the highest determination. If reaching the 3rd qualifying round, Vietnam will play against the 11 strongest teams in Asia and have officially have tickets to attend the 2023 Asian Cup finals. This is an extremely good opportunity for Vietnamese players to improve themselves.
We are also the current champion of the AFF Cup, so the image and reputation issues need to be ensured. Moreover, fans are very interested in this playground, so with V.League's new schedule, the First Division will allow Vietnam to have the best force to participate in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2020.”
Currently, the Vietnamese team is at the top of Group G with 11 points and an unbeaten record in 3 victories and 2 draws. Park Hang-seo's army needs to gain 4-6 points in the remaining 3 matches (Malaysia, Indonesia and UAE) to make sure there is a ticket to continue.
With the current performance, the possibility of 'Golden Dragon' to advance to the 3rd qualifying round is high. This will be the first time in Vietnamese football history to reach the final qualifying round of a World Cup. In addition, if winning the AFF Cup 2020, Vietnam will have twice championships in a rown in Vietnam history.
