Van Thanh aspires to go abroad like Van Hau and Cong Phuong

Van Thanh is considered one of the top defenders in Vietnam. In addition to the versatility, great physical strength and endurance to attack, Hai Duong-born player also maintains a stable performance for a long time. Since 2017, there have been several mid-range clubs in Europe interested in the star of HAGL. Specifically, Serbia's FK Volvodina Club sent a written request to HAGL to ask for the transfer of 24-year-old defender.

Although being highly appreciated and receiving the attention of foreign teams, Van Thanh has not been able to follow his teammates like Cong Phuong, Tuan Anh and Xuan Truong for various reasons. In the latest sharing before the media, Van Thanh once again affirmed his ambition to develop his career outside of Vietnam. In particular, the Korean league (K.League) and Japan (J.League) are the destination the defender wants to try.

“Trying to play football platform higher than V.League is very good for my personal development as well as Vietnamese football. Before that, Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong, Tuan Anh ... had never been successful abroad. But if I can go abroad, I want to try playing football in developed football, namely Japan and Korea are the two leading Asian football platforms. I want to try it here, ” said Van Thanh.

After coming back from a broken knee ligament injury, not playing much in the V.League 2019, Van Thanh is determined to return strongly this season. The defender of HAGL has put the goal to play well, soon regain its official position in Vietnam.
