The president of the Japan Football Federation is positive for Covid-19
Japanese football received a shocking news when its president, Kozo Tashima, tested positive for the Covid-19 virus.
On the afternoon of March 17, Japanese media was feverishly informed that the president of the Football Association of this country was infected with the Covid-19 virus. Accordingly, Mr. Kozo Tashima had some symtoms from March 14. He then went to test and gave the result yesterday
Mr. Kozo Tashima holds high positions on FIFA Council and Vice Chairman of Japan Olympic Committee (JOC). From late February to early March, Mr. Tashima traveled to the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and the United States to attend meetings.
"On March 15, I felt bad so I checked my body temperature and found that I had a slight fever. I went to a health center to check it on March 16. I feel fine right now, " Mr. Tashima said.
Currently Japan is one of the leading Covid-19 infected countries in the world. However, the country's government has taken measures to quarantine in time to prevent the outbreak of disease.
The J-League has also been postponed and may not be expected to return until April. Not only the national league is suspended, it is likely that the Olympic Committee will announce the suspension of this summer when the Tokyo Olympic Games is scheduled to be held in June.
A series of international sporting events had to be canceled earlier such as Euro 2020, F1 races in China, Australia and Vietnam. This will be the most difficult time of world sports in 2020.
