The Malaysian player among the World’s top 50 young talent, eyed by Newcastle
Luqman Hakim, the player in the top 50 best young talents in the world in 2020, has received great attention from Newcastle United.
Luqman Hakim, 18, was born in Kota Bharu, playing as a striker for Selangor II and Malaysia U22. This player has just entered the list of the 50 best young talents in the world 2020.
Luqman Hakim is receiving invitations from domestic and foreign clubs, even clubs in Europe. According to some sources, the 18-year-old signed a five-year contract with KV Kortrijk club in Belgium, which was bought by billionaire Vincent Tan of Malaysia in 2015 for 5 million euros.
However, Hakim has not been able to go to Europe because of the disease.
According to information from New Straits Times Malaysia, Luqman Hakim signed a contract with the management company Lionel Foy of El-Ef Sport Agency based in the UK. This unit is a bridge for Malaysian players to go to play football in the UK. Newcastle United is the team that really wants to recruit Luqman Hakim.
However, Hakim's arrival in Europe received opposition from Mr. Lim Teong Kim, Luqman's former coach at the Mokhtar Dahari Academy (MDA). Mr. Lim has a lot of experience working with young players who have led U19 Bayern Munich for 12 years. Currently he has returned to Malaysia to do youth training.
Lim Teong Kim said that a player from Malaysia like Luqman Hakim would have a hard time playing in Europe. Hakim can be affected mentally as well as career path.
