Coach Chung Hae-seong recently revealed the most important thing to himself and the Ho Chi Minh City Club in the context of the complicated development of Covid-19.

During the time when Vietnamese football was frozen due to Covid-19 epidemic, coach Chung Hae-seong of Ho Chi Minh City Club has so much time at home. In a recent conversation with reporter Yonhap, he shared his feelings during this difficult time.

“For the past 15 days, all matches have been postponed because of Covid-19. Therefore, the training of the team (HCMC Club) must be stopped. The players of the team have to train at home,” Mr. Chung said.

The Covid-19 epidemic turned upside down Chung Hae-seong's plan for the HCMC club

Chung Hae-seong chose to practice regularly to improve his health during this free time. But that was also when he sensed the danger of this epidemic. “The park in front of my house is normally very crowded. But now it has become unusually quiet,” he said.

Ho Chi Minh City Club is starting a new season with very high performance in both the V-League and AFC Cup arena. However, the Covid-19 pandemic had turned all the team training and competition plans upside down. The southern team is in danger of having a big disturbance after the tournament comes back. However, for Chung Hae-seong, that doesn't matter anymore.

“Many Vietnamese reporters ask me many questions about their regret when the V-League has to postpone because of the Covid-19 epidemic. However, that does not matter now. The most important thing now is to find a way to overcome this disease,” the HCMC Club coach shared.

Chung Hae-seong hopes Covid-19 pandemic ends quickly so everything will be back to normal.

Currently, the 62-year-old coach lives alone at home in Vietnam because his family has returned to Korea before. This helps him to have many new experiences that the normal days have not had the opportunity to do:

“My family could not go to Vietnam because of Covid-19. Before returning home, my wife left a fridge full of food. Now it has been reduced a lot. Restaurants near my house are closed. Even so, the Korean supermarket is still open. Now I have to cook myself. My assistant Lee Jung Soo at the HCMC Club was the same. ”
