Thailand closed its plans to conquer the 2022 World Cup qualifier
The Football Asociation of Thailand (FAT) will bring coach Akira Nishino back in mid-August, he will be able to attend the matches in the Thai League scheduled to start in September.
As expected, Thai League will start from Sept 12. Coach Akira Nishino will be present in Thailand from mid-August, he must be isolated 14 days and can start work in September. At the moment, Akira Nishino needs to monitor and evaluate the performance of players to prepare forces for the Thai team to participate in the 2022 World Cup Asian region.
Coach Akira Nishino has been in Japan since March so far. During that time, he could only exchange and track the players via video. The Thai players also had to take a break from the game due to the impact of the disease, they kept at home training and just returned to focus with the club.
Coach Akira Nishino once called for Thai League clubs to support: "As you know, Thailand Tel will have 3 very important matches in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Asia. If under normal circumstances then We are currently preparing and practicing hard for this tournament, but given the current situation, we must join hands to overcome this difficulty.
I want to get the maximum cooperation from the clubs in Thai League. When the tournament comes back, I hope the teams will follow the Thai Football Federation's plan and create the best conditions for the players to have the opportunity to warm up before attending important matches. Besides, I also require the players to have the spirit of self-discipline to be able to immediately be ready when the tournament starts in Thailand.”
With the AFF Cup postponed to 2021, the Thai team still has three very important matches in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, against Indonesia on October 8, against the UAE on 12 Nov and meet Malaysia on 11 Nov.
Changsuek is 3 points behind top spot Vietnam in Group G. However, the chance to win the ticket for Akira Nishino's side still remains, if they play well in all three matches.
