Thai striker: 'Losing to Vietnam is the saddest thing in my career'

Recently, the former Thai striker, Teeratep Winothai shared the most unforgettable memories of his international career.

In particular, this striker considered the thrashing to Vietnam in the final of the 2008 AFF Cup the saddest thing in his career.

"The saddest thing in my career was probably the thrashing against Vietnam in the 2008 AFF Cup final. Le Cong Vinh's last goal ended all hopes of Thailand.

The AFF Cup 2008 is a successful tournament with Thailand. We have once again advanced to the finals. But it is a pity not to win the championship.”

At its peak, Teeratep can be considered the destroyer. Teerasil Dangda and he always make the Vietnamese fans fear when the two teams confront.

Former prodigy of Thai football born the same time with Van Quyen has continuously achieved success with Thailand U23 team. In the SEA Games from 2001 to 2007, he and his home team won the gold medal four times.

The most memorable match of this striker was probably the final of SEA Games 2005, when he scored a hat-trick to give Thailand a  3-0 win.

 Vietnamese football has always ended its dream of getting to the top of the SEA Games after that game.

Currently, despite being 35 years old, Teeratep Winothai is still playing professionally for Chonburi Club in Thai League. Experience makes him an integral part of this team.
