The Indonesian Football Confederation (PSSI) owes head coach Shin Tae-yong and the entire national team coaching staff their wages.

Speaking to Bola, Shin Tae-yong's assistant Nova Arianto of the U19 team and the national team of Indonesia said: “In previous months, salaries were usually paid on the 5th of each month. Now I don't know when money will be disbursed, it may be very soon. ”

Mr. Arianto said his April salary and the entire coaching staff, including the head coach, had not been paid, which means PSSI has been owing Shin's salary for the last two months.

The Korean coach took over the coach position last December. Local media has revealed Mr. Shin's mission is to help Indonesia win the AFF Cup 2020.

The 49-year-old strategist is well-known throughout Asia after helping South Korea to defeat the reigning world champion at the World Cup in 2018. Many sources show that he receives approximately $ 1 million a year in Indonesia.

Assistant Arianto said: “I don't know if they will pay the full salary as contract or cut. Things are stalling due to the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic. ”

Mr. Arianto's worries are justified, as PSSI has announced plans to reduce wages at federations and national teams.

Talking to Bola, Secretary General Yunus Nusi avoided direct talks about Mr. Shin's salary. However, he acknowledged the federation currently has no revenues due to the disease situation.

The financial difficulties make it impossible for them to maintain the normal operation of many specialized departments and at the same time unable to make expenditures. PSSI President Mochamad Iriawan is also looking for ways to stabilize the financial situation and solve problems early.
