Accordingly, the representative of J.League said that they will coordinate with Saigon FC to build a youth football academy in the near future.
In addition to finding and training Vietnamese football talents, the two sides will also find a common voice, promoting economic and cultural relations between the two countries.
“The first thing is that we will help Saigon FC develop and cooperate to build a football academy.
Second is to create a cultural and economic connection between Vietnam and Japan. This is an opportunity for businesses from the two countries to seek cooperation,” Tokyo's Global Sales Director Koji Ishii shared with Thanh Nien.
Representative of Tokyo FC at the opening ceremony of the 2020 season of Saigon Club.
To Saigon FC, president Vu Tien Thanh also believed that seeking cooperation with a partner from Japan is suitable for the team's development strategy.
“Japan is an advanced football platform and shares the quite same playstyle with Vietnamese football which is about technique, fast ball control and flexible teamwork. Therefore Vietnamese players will easily adapt.
That is also why we want to combine with FC Tokyo to raise the level of Saigon FC players in particular and young Vietnamese players in general in the near future,” said Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh.
In the 2020 season, the team leader also set three important goals including being in the Top 3 in the V.League, reaching the semi-finals in the National Cup and attracting 100,000 spectators to the field.
