Qatar invited the Vietnamese youth team to play friendly in Doha
As part of the preparation for the AFC U16 Championship 2020 finals, the Qatar Football Federation has sent a letter to the Vietnam Football Federation inviting the U16 Vietnam to play in a friendly match in Doha in October.
During the qualifying journey, U16 Vietnam has lost its place in the finals, unfortunately losing 1-2 to U16 Australia and losing the first place to the main opponent.
Despite missing an appointment with the U16 Asian Cup finals 2020, but with the impressive achievements of Vietnamese football in the international arena in recent years, Vietnam U16 NT is still highly appreciated and attracts the attention of other countries in their plans to organize international competitions.
In addition, on the basis of the good relationship between the Vietnam Football Federation and the Qatar Football Federation, the invitation of U16 Vietnam to Doha for friendly matches will continue to be a highlight of cooperation for developing young football between the two countries.
At the invitation of the Qatar Football Federation, the leader of the Vietnam Football Federation assessed that this was a very favorable opportunity for Vietnam U16 Vietnam team to experience and play againt international teams, especially highly qualified teams in Asia.
However, the plan to send Vietnam U16 squad to friendly matches in Doha can only be implemented provided that the Covid-19 epidemic is well controlled and there are no restrictions on movement between the two countries in scheduled time for the aforementioned friendly match.
The main task of U16 Vietnam in 2020 is to attend the U16 Championship in Southeast Asia 2020 hosted by Indonesia. However, due to the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic, many AFF tournaments, including the U16 Southeast Asia tournament, have been postponed and have yet to be determined.
