Overseas Vietnamese player disappointed on the day Park scouts
Although Park Hang-seo and his colleagues are watching directly, Martin Lo did not leave any impression in the second round of V-League 2020.
The match between Hai Phong and Quang Nam in the second round of V-League 2020 welcomes the appearance of important faces. It is coach Park Hang Seo with two assistants Lee Yong Jin and Park Sung Gyun. The purpose of this scout is to search and verify potential faces for the Vietnamese team in the future.
In fact, Hai Phong and Quang Nam do not have many stars in the team. Only a few faces are familiar with the team such as goalkeeper Van Toan, Van Cuong or defender Tan Sinh. Some other names like Manh Hung or Thanh Trung have not been called for a long time or retired from the national team. So, all the attention is on Martin Lo when he just arrived in Hai Phong in this season.
However, Martin Lo unfortunately did not have a good match. While other faces like Van Toan and Van Cuong all showed excellent performances, the midfielder appeared to be disappointing in the middle of the pitch.
The appearance of Martin Lo hardly helps Hai Phong's playing become softer. Overseas Vietnamese player proved to be quite weak when constantly letting the opponent steal the ball. He also did not create any dangerous pass for teammates. This makes Hai Phong midfield become inferior to the visitors at most of the time playing.
His strongest impression was only a dangerous finish that goalkeeper Van Cuong had to fly and catched in the 16th minute. Not patient enough with Martin Lo, right in the first minutes of the second half, coach Pham Anh Tuan had sent Martin out and changed the tactics of the team. Hai Phong gradually plays better and creates more dangerous situations on the opponent's goal. However, it had to wait until 87 minutes for Mpande to seal 1-1 score.
Playing unimpressively in the day Park attended, Martin Lo will have to make more efforts in the near future at Hai Phong Club. The Korean coach has confirmed that he will conduct a renovation in Vietnam squad in the near future. However, before that Vietnamese overseas player needs to prove himself as a quality player in V-League 2020.
