Malaysia naturalized a player from the Champions League
Malaysia shows its great ambition in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers when it is about to naturalize the former Belgian and Champions League youngster - Dion Johan Cools.
Johan Cools is a Belgian Malaysian player, who is on loan at FC Midtijlland (Denmark), has decided to return to Malaysia.
He was part of the Club Brugge Club team playing in the Champions League. Dion Hohan Cools, 24, plays well as a center-back and a full-back. Dion Cools has 18 caps for U21 Belgium. At the age of 24, Cools raised hopes of returning to Malaysia.
Currently, the Malaysia Football Federation is assisting Cools to complete the necessary procedures to become a Malaysian citizen.
In addition to the strengthening from Cools, Malaysia continuously naturalized a series of names including striker Mohamadou Sumareh, Matthew Davies (24), left-back La'Vere Corbin-Ong (28) and midfielder Brendan Gan (31).
