Le Cong Vinh among the top legends of Southeast Asia
Striker Le Cong Vinh is in the top 5 scorers with the most goals in the history of Southeast Asia.
According to statistics from Asean Football, Le Cong Vinh has scored 51 goals since 2004-2016. This achievement helped the former Vietnam striker to reach the top 5 scorers for teams in Southeast Asia. In addition, he is also the striker scoring the most goals for Vietnam so far.
The top spot in this list is the former Malaysian striker Zainal Abidin. He scored 78 goals after 134 caps for Malaysia, from 1984 to 1996.
Meanwhile, Kiatisuk Senamuang is ranked 2nd in the list of strikers scoring the most goals for teams in Southeast Asia. He scored 71 goals during his time with the Thai team from 1993 - 2007.
Ranked third is another legend of regional football, the best footballer in Singapore football history Fandi Ahmad, he scored 55 goals for the lion island team, from 1979 to 1997.
The former Philippines striker Phil Younghusband who is ranked fourth, scored 52 goals for the Philippines, during the time he played for this team from 2006 - 2019.
