Director of HAGL: 'We have no objections but no meeting at the moment'
Technical director Nguyen Tan Anh said that HAGL's point of view is not to discuss V-League 2020 when the disease is complicated.
The online meeting was expected to held on 1 March, HAGL is the only team not attending. HAGL president Doan Nguyen Duc had quite a harsh reaction to explain this reason, and in a recent interview, Technical Director Nguyen Tan Anh also affirmed the same thing.
Answering to Zing, Mr. Tan Anh said: "It is the time to focus on the battle against Covid-19. Mr. Duc's opinion is that the whole country is now fighting against the epidemic, so he does not discuss football at this time, he has to wait for the epidemic to be over."
Mr. Nguyen Tan Anh also said that this is the time of the country to fight against epidemic, the Prime Minister recently issued a ban on social distancing to minimize the risk of infection. Mr. Tan Anh wanted that after the Government allowed, he could discuss about the competition later.
"HAGL does not object but at the moment there is no discussion, when the epidemic is over, so please do not discuss at this time", Mr. Nguyen Tan Anh affirmed his role as a member of HAGL but this is not the right time to talk about football.
VPF had previously proposed the idea of centralized competition, in which all teams will concentrate in 1 place.
Six teams agreed with this idea, but Quang Nam, Binh Duong and Nam Dinh Club objected. HAGL does not comment on VPF's proposal. The matches will take place on the field with no spectators.
The V-League has only been in 2 rounds and VPF wants to plan early to when the epidemic is under control, which will give the national team more time to join and compete at the end of the year.
