Cong Phuong, Quang Hai and all members of the eight clubs reaching the quarter-finals of the National Cup 2020 will have to test Covid-19 before playing.
On August 26, the Executive Board of the National Professional Football Tournament Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) announced the plan to play the National Cup 2020 in September. However, Quang Hai, Cong Phuong ... will have to test Covid-19 before playing.
Specifically, VPF requires 8 football teams including Ba Ria Vung Tau, Than Quang Ninh, Hanoi, Viettel, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Hong Linh Ha Tinh and Binh Duong to take the COVID test for players and the coaching team then report the results to VPF 3-5 days before the National Cup quarter-finals of 2020.
According to the newly announced National Cup competition schedule, the quarter-finals are scheduled to take place on September 11 and September 12. Two semi-finals will be held on September 16, the final will be on September 20.
VPF requires clubs to get permission from local authorities to plan the match at home. Issues related to the form of competition with or without spectator will be decided by the local organization.
Before 5:00 p.m of Sep 3, the teams participating in the 2020 National Cup must send documents from the People's Committee of the national professional football tournaments to the People's Committees of provinces and cities to determine whether matches are allowed or not.
It is expected that First Division 2020 will re-start on September 25 to October 31. While the remaining matches of the first leg of the V.League 2020 will be played at the end of September or early October. The last 6 teams will play until October 31, with 8 remaining teams. topping the championship will play until the beginning of November 2020.
