Attending the ceremony to award the Second Class Labor Medal to Mr. Park at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (Hanoi), there were the presence of Minister of Culture - Sports - Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien and Ambassador of Korea National Park in Vietnam Park Noh-wan.
2019 was a successful year for Vietnamese football. Under the guidance of Park Hang-seo, Vietnam national team has entered the top 8 of the strongest teams in the Asian Cup, leading the rankings in the World Cup qualifiers 2022. At U22 level, Vietnam stepped onto the podium for the first time in history. highest won the SEA Games gold medal.
Park Hang-seo said emotionally: “I would like to thank the people of Vietnam for giving me this Medal. I feel proud and meaningful, being the first medal given to foreigners in football. I represent the coaching staff, the players, the logistics department that has tried all the time. That is the responsibility of the Vietnamese people to us, putting certain pressures on us.
Covid-19 is affecting life in general. V-League is paused. I want to try to contribute my efforts to help Vietnamese football in this difficult time. I thank you all. We promise to maintain our form and be ready to return when things get better. Together we hold hands to overcome this difficulty. We will make more efforts to bring more good news to Vietnamese football.”
General Secretary Le Hoai Anh also thanked two assistants Lee Young-jin and Kim Han-yoon. Mr. Lee Young-jin worked closely with Mr. Park during his first days in Vietnam. Assistant Kim Han-yoon was assigned to work in the U22 team and also successfully completed the task.
