Hanoi club announced that defender Do Duy Manh broke his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and had to stop playing for long term.
According to the official announcement from the Hanoi Club, center-back Do Duy Manh broke his ligament and had to take a long break.
"In the National Super Cup match 2019 took place on March 1, player Do Duy Manh suffered an unfortunate injury in the 4th minute. Shortly thereafter, the medical department of the Hanoi Football Club urgently visited and diagnosed it was a serious injury.
This afternoon, Dr. Vu Thanh Luan took Duy Manh for an MRI scan. The initial results show that cenberback Do Duy Manh completely cut off his ACL and will have to rest for a long time.
Hanoi Football Club will carry out procedures as soon as possible to bring Duy Manh abroad for surgery. This is an unfortunate injury for Duy Manh at the start of the new football season. The whole Hanoi FC team wishes Duy Manh a quick return to the pitch ", Hanoi FC announced.
With this injury, Duy Manh will surely need surgery. He needed at least 9 months to 1 year to fully recover. This is the same injury as teammate Dinh Trong when he retired from June 2019.
At this time, Hanoi has only two good central defenders Thanh Chung and Tien Thanh.
