Australian coach 'criticized' the playing conditions in Vietnam
Coach Ante Milicic made remarks after Australia's hard-fought win against Vietnamese women's team.
After having a masive win in the first leg, Australia entered the second leg with a very comfortable mentality. As a result, they got 2 goals in the first half thanks to Kerr and Raso.
Although conceding 2 goals, Vietnam women team has completed the tatarget of minimizing the conceding goal. Huynh Nhu found the net, ending 12 years without goals in H2H of Vietnam vs Australia.
Speaking after the match, coach Ante Milicic rejoiced: "We have come a long way to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. We have won two victories and deserve to move on. I am proud of the players."
After witnessing the goal of Huynh Nhu and the flourishing attacking style of Vietnam in the second half, coach Ante Milicic was worried that the game would turn and quickly made changes.
"After we conceded, Australia's tactics changed when they did not try to score goals but focused on preserving the score, defending firmly agaisnt all possible situations," added coach Milicic.
Finally, coach Milicic commented that the pitch in this match did not meet international standards and felt sorry when his team scored a few goals.
"We had more chances to score more than 2 goals. The yard conditions here are below the standard for a professional match like this."
